The Slocan Valley Co-op Community Development Fund provides bursaries to 2019 graduates.
Our Community Development Fund includes annual high school bursaries, providing a contribution totaling $2,000 to graduates from schools in our main business area. This year's recipients from Mount Sentinel Secondary School are Kyungin Cho and Cayden Wahoski; and from Stanley Humphries Secondary School are Dakota Doherty and Hanna Zappavigna. Each will receive a bursary of $500 to go toward their post-secondary education.
The annual graduate bursaries is our Co-operative's continued commitment to invest in the future of the communities in which we operate. Our Co-operative has existed since 1957 to not only provide services to its members, but to invest in our local economy and assist in building communities. Specifically, we recognize the need to invest in our local youth whom demonstrate a commitment toward personal growth in an effort to provide a positive contribution to their community.
